Having toured the US with One Direction and Cody Simpson, Camryn is a pop artist who has earned her stripes on the road, and under the close scrutiny of discerning audiences. Since those tours, the Camryn sound has developed to become a swaggering guitar-driven take on pop. She is a woman who knows herself, builds to her strengths, and expands on ambition.
Currently in the studio working on new music with GRAMMY winners Linney and Q (Kesha, Gwen Stefani) as well as producers Kipp Williams and Dan Muckala, Camryn is building momentum toward something big for 2016. There’s no more exciting time to catch up with the young artist and hear her introduction to the infectious, ambitious track “Machines.”
“We revamped the track, rewrote the lyrics, and put a ‘Camryn’ twist to it. The song will hopefully motivate my fans to drive for success and world domination in whatever area of their life they strive for that. For me, it’s my music. Lines like, ‘We’re gonna get there fast or slow’ is a representation of my dedication to what I love most. The idea of doing something like “Machines” is the idea that I’m going to get to my end goal and nothing is going to stop me.
The lyric video’s very different from most lyric videos, in the sense that it has a performance and it’s not just lyrics on a screen. I wanted it to be creative, yet still get the lyrics across in a new and different way. Having me wipe off paint to reveal the lyrics is something I’ve never seen done before, giving it an almost futuristic aesthetic which ties into the machines aspect. It also is tied with the official music video which will be coming out soon, so stay tuned!”
