Everything Everything Succumb To “A Fever Dream”

Jonathan Higgs discusses the music that influenced the band’s sound

Everything Everything

Back in August, Everything Everything released their third straight top-10 U.K. charting album, proving once again that they are one of the British Isles’ top indie rock acts. Titled A Fever Dream, the LP finds the band digging deeper into the modern human condition, hoping to expose the absurdity of our collective moment. Throughout the record, the Manchester-grown quartet uses macabre vignettes to showcase their songwriting ability as they paint a startlingly bleak picture of the world.

The band just finished a sold-out European tour, and will now set off to conquer the United States with a compact set of five shows. Over the course of six days in mid-October, Everything Everything will play in some of America’s biggest cities, including Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C., and Boston.

ARTISTdirect caught up with lead vocalist Jonathan Higgs to discuss the songs that influenced his dark perspective, the tracks that encouraged his musical direction, and the songs he is most proud of.
